John Rounsaville utilizes a broad range of political and policy experience. On Capitol Hill and in Jackson, he directed issues ranging from economic and community development to defense, agriculture, forestry, environment, energy, and transportation/infrastructure priorities. John served as Deputy Chief of Staff and Legislative Director to Congressman Chip Pickering from 1999 to 2003. He returned to Mississippi in 2004 to serve as Policy Advisor to Governor Haley Barbour. In 2006, President George W. Bush appointed John as State Director for Mississippi's USDA Rural Development agency to direct the 200 person staff and $220 million budget.
In 2008, Mississippi Business Journal recognized John as a Top 40 under 40 Business Leader. John currently serves as an officer in the Air National Guard. He and his wife Laura reside in Madison County.
His work in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina for...housing, natural resources restoration and to develop utility infrastructure in South Mississippi was nothing short of phenomenal.
John mastered the practices and methods of success in Washington, but never forgot those Mississippi values...never lost his roots, and never lost sight of our goal to serve Mississippi.
